DESPATCH AND DELIVERY TIMINGS
We aim to roast, pack and deliver coffee orders (except instant coffee) around 7 to 10 days after you place your order. If you require a more urgent coffee delivery, please contact us by email or by telephone. On occasions we may have sufficient roasted/ground stock to cover the order in which case despatch will be quicker. In the unlikely event that your coffee order could take beyond 10 days to deliver, we will let you know as soon as possible after you have placed the order so that you can decide how you wish to proceed.
Orders for other products (including instant coffee and all Cafe Direct) will be despatched within 2 working days of receipt where items ordered are in stock. In fact 80% are sent out within 1 working day. If you have ordered roasted coffee beans, or ground coffee at the same time as other products, the other products will usually be delivered with the coffee and will therefore be subject to the coffee delivery timescales.
We will inform you as soon as possible after you place your order if an item is not in stock so you can decide how you wish to proceed.
Please note that for day counting purposes as above, orders placed after close of business (5pm) are regarded as placed the following working day. So orders placed after 5pm on a Friday, or on a Saturday or Sunday, are regarded as having been placed on the following Monday.
On placing an order, you will receive an automatic email acknowledgement stating that your order will be despatched within the above timescales unless we have informed you otherwise. We may have informed you otherwise by a message displayed on the web-site at the time that you placed your order, or by a separate email, or by a telephone call. Please do look out for messages on the web site, which may be on the home page if generally applicable, or specific to the product you have ordered.
We will of course never substitute different products without your agreement in advance. We may sometimes substitute different quantity packaging. Any resulting total quantity differences will be in your favour.

Rising Prices Good News for Coffee Farmers
Coffee prices took a major dive in the second half of 2008 but are now rising again. The long term projected uptrend is also good news. Prices are now (September 2009) stabilising around and above the 3$ per kilo mark, having plummeted to near 2.50$ per kilo in the early part of 2009.
Demand for Arabica beans is expected to grow at a faster pace than for Robusta. The move by companies such as McDonald's, Maxwell House and Dunkin Doughnuts to use only Arabica beans for their coffee is indicative of a reversal in the trend towards cheaper robusta coffee from traditional Arabica varieties, which started in the 1990s.
